About Indian Coast Guards Yantrik:

The Indian Coast Guard was established on 18th August 1978 by the Coast Guard Act, 1978. This made the Indian Coast Guard as the Independent Armed Force Under Defense Ministry of India. All the aspirants who are serving the motherland through the Indian Coast Guard force are responsible for Maritime security which has command on territorial waters of the country. All the external Ships/ vessels/ cruises coming from different countries will be watched by Indian Coast Guards.

Notification regarding the recruitment:

Indian Coast Guard recruitment board has released the recruitment Indian Coast Guard Notification Advt No: DAVP 10119/11/0015/1920 under Yantrik 01/2020 to recruit the eligible candidates who have done a diploma in any of the following Engineering (Mechanical/ Electrical / Electronics & Tele Communication). No information has been provided on a number of candidates that will be recruited through this drive.

Important Dates and Events:

The authority has released the Indian Coast Guard Notification for the recruitment on 31st July 2019 expecting the online applications to start from 11th August 2019 and these applications along with the payment will be closed by 5 PM on 17th August 2019. The written exam will be carried out in the month of September 2019. After the written test, both the Physical tests will be taken care of in November Month and later final selection list will be out by January 2020.

Eligibility & Educational Qualification / Age Limit:

Candidates applying should only be men and they should have completed Matriculation/ 10th/ SSC/ SSLC along with a Diploma in Engineering courses like Mechanical OR Electrical OR Electronics OR Telecommunication Engineering from any recognized Institute.

Coming to the Age details, candidates must be between 18 to 22 years, i.e. Their DOB must be between 01 Feb 1998 and 31 Jan 2002. There is an age relaxation of 5 years for SC/ ST candidates and 3 years for the OBC aspirants.

Pay Scale/ Salary:

The one who gets selected for these Indian Coast Guard Yantrik Posts will be able to get a pay of 29,200 Rs per month in the initial stages along with Yantrik Grade Pay and DA.

Salary: Rs. 29200 (Pay Level-5) Yantrik pay + Rs. 6200 + DA + other allowances.

How to Apply:

As per the Notification, the authority will only be accepting the Online Applications for the Technical Yantrik posts and hence candidates can only do it through an official portal of Indian Coast Guard recruitment.

Steps to apply:

1) Surf to the official site and reach out to the menu  “Opportunities”

2) Find the link for applying the ” Yantrik Technical posts 2020

3) Now fill all the details of the candidate like Name, parents’ name, DOB

4) Complete the information on marks obtained in 10th, Diploma and the percentage should be up to 2 decimals.

5) Next, enter the personal Email ID and Mobile number and enroll them

6) Select the exam centers from the provided list.

7) After completing the application, submit the details to get application Number/ Registration Number.

Selection Process:

For the selection of perfect candidates to the Yantrik posts, the Indian Coast Guard has designed a selection process where candidates have to undergo Written examinations and 2 sets of Physical tests.

Written Exam:

Aspirants will have to select the stream of Diploma while applying. So written test will have a subject based on their preference of Engineering. The written test conducted is Objective type and the question paper has the following sections:

1) Mechanical/Electrical/Electronics & Telecommunication (based on preference)

2) General Knowledge

3) Reasoning

4) Quantitative Aptitude

5) General English

This written test will be conducted in the month of September 2019 and the same candidates will have to carry the 3 sets of downloaded e-admit cards along with the passport photocopies. Authority will provide the admit card for writing tests in the first week of September 2019. All the details of the exam venue and timings will be present on the admit card.

Physical Fitness Test:

All the abilities of physical works that a candidate can do come under the Physical Fitness Test. The candidate must complete these tasks one after the other to get selected for the Physical Eligibility Test.

  • Running: 1.6 Kms in 7 Minutes
  • Push-Ups: 10 Push-Ups
  • Squat Ups:20 Uthak Baithak

Physical Eligibility Test:

These are the standards maintained by the Indian Coast Guard to take on the Yantrik candidates. Both PET and PFT will be conducted in about 2-3 days in November 2019.

  • Minimum Height: 157 Cms
  • Weight: Measuring will be done based on age and height ( +10% tolerance)
  • Chest Measurement: Expansion should be at least 5 Cms with a good proportion
  • Eye Vision: Without Glasses: 6/24
  • With Glasses: Better Eye: 6/9
  • With Glasses: Worse Eye: 6/12
